Introducing Zog Live on Stage

A production still from Zog Live on Stage.

Disclosure: this is a paid collaboration with Zog Live on Stage.

Calling all Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler fans! This summer, Zog will be flying into Cadogan Hall, London.

From Wednesday 31 July to Sunday 25 August, the popular story will be brought to life in Freckle Productions and Rose Theatre Kingston’s Zog Live on Stage.

Just in case you’re not already familiar with the book – or animation that aired over Christmas – Zog is a clumsy but determined dragon.

His aim in life is to impress his teacher, Madam Dragon, and win a golden star. Things don’t always go to plan, however.

Other characters include a little girl and a knight and, in true Julia Donaldson style, there’s more to both of these characters than meets the eye.

It’s a lovely story about friendship, confounding expectations and finding your place. I’ve read it many times in recent years and know it by heart!

Zog, in particular, is a character young children identify with as well as a good role model of sorts.

He tries and tries and doesn’t give up on learning new skills despite a series of cuts and burns and bumps along the way.

This production brings the tale to a live audience via storytelling, puppetry and original music. It seems to be in very capable hands too.

Freckle Productions is no stranger to Donaldson/Scheffler adaptations. Indeed, it already has successful productions of Stick Man, Tabby McTat and Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales under its belt.

Zog Live on Stage promises to be a treat for the whole family so read on for your chance to win tickets plus plenty more.
