Here’s a competition that Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler fans won’t want to miss! Freckle Productions’ adaptation of Stick Man is returning for its eighth annual West End season. To celebrate this as well as the tenth anniversary of the much-loved book, I have a fantastic prize bundle up for grabs.
Playing at London’s Leicester Square Theatre until Sunday 6 January 2019, Stick Man is a family-friendly 55-minute performance. It follows the misfortunes of the title character as his morning jog takes him off on an unexpected adventure.
The unwanted attentions of a series of creatures and people who mistake him for a mere stick seem set to prevent his return home.
It’s a lovely story that’s a firm favourite in our house. I’ve mentioned this before, but I can relate to Stick Man.
He’s a dad of three who is constantly distracted from what he’s trying to achieve. Indeed, during a recent six-hour journey home from a blogging event in Manchester, I found myself thinking of his go-to line. “I want to go home to the family tree!”
There’s something really quite charming about live performances of children’s books. This production brings Stick Man’s tale to life via puppetry, music and, I’m reliably informed, funky moves. It promises to be a show that audiences of all ages will enjoy.
Freckle Productions is no stranger to adapting Donaldson-Scheffler books for the stage. Indeed, it was also behind critically-acclaimed runs of Tabby McTat and Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales. As well as the forthcoming UK tour of Zog. Another of our family favourites!
So, what of the prize? Well, I have a family ticket (four tickets) to a performance of the winner’s choice, subject to availability. These can be redeemed until the final performance on 6 January 2019.
That’s not all, though. The winner will also receive a Stick Man plush toy, a DVD of the popular BBC adaptation and a Stick Man annual. A brilliant bundle of prizes, I’m sure you’ll agree!
To be in with a chance of winning, enter via the Rafflecopter widget below. As always, you can use as many of the entry methods as you like.
To ensure speedy delivery of the prize bundle, the winner will need to provide a UK postal address. Good luck!
