Calling all wannabe chocolatiers. This may well be your moment! Cadbury is offering everyone in the UK and Ireland the opportunity to create and name their own Dairy Milk bar.
That’s right. The nation’s favourite chocolate is opening its doors to connoisseurs around these isles. And speaking of isles – well, aisles – your handiwork could end up on sale in a supermarket near you next year. How cool is that?
Creating your own Dairy Milk bar is a doddle. Simply choose up to three ingredients from the comprehensive range suggested on the Cadbury Inventor site.
Then hit the mix button, give your creation a name and explain why you think it’s a winner. It’s as fun and simple as that.
There are over 90,000 possible combinations of ingredients and they’ve been divided into categories – including ‘creamy’, ‘nutty’ and ‘wildcard’ – to help focus your thoughts.
Three finalists will have the chance to visit Cadbury’s Bournville HQ to help chocolate experts make their creations.
Then, the finalists’ bars will be sold in stores alongside the likes of Cadbury Dairy Milk, Fruit & Nut and Whole Nut before being put to a nationwide vote.
The winner will go on sale from 2019 as a limited edition for a minimum of 12 months and, of course, its creator will receive a year’s supply of it.
I absolutely love this idea – and, of course, chocolate – so couldn’t resist having a quick go on Cadbury Inventor myself.
I thought it would be fun to design a blog-centric bar. The six-year-old suggested ‘Dairy of the Dad’ so that was the name sorted!
Ingredients posed more of a challenge though. There are so many great flavours to choose from!
I drink a lot of coffee while blogging, so would have to throw some of that into the mix.
Cookies are a big thing with any website and my blog is no exception, so I’d chuck in some of those too.
Finally, as the main subjects of my blog are three little monkeys, it would have to include banana.
I’m not sure my combination of ingredients does justice to the name, but I would eat it. My kids wouldn’t turn their noses up at it either!
I bet you can come up with something better though. If you fancy giving it a go, head over to the Cadbury Inventor site and make your selection. The competition closes on 31 July. Terms and conditions apply.
Which flavour combinations would go in your ideal Dairy Milk bar?
