Review: Hey Duggee The Stick Badge & Other Stories

A Hey Duggee DVD.

Like any family with young children, we’re huge fans of CBeebies favourite, Hey Duggee. We always record it and enjoy watching several episodes at a time together.

I think it’s one of those shows that has got everything spot on. It’s educational, joyful and representative of modern life.

It’s also laugh-out-loud funny for children and parents alike. It has a fantastic voice cast too, including Alexander Armstrong as the narrator.

We have a number of favourite episodes and The Stick Badge is, of course, well and truly up there among them.

With that in mind, I was delighted to be offered the chance to review the brand new DVD. Hey Duggee The Stick Badge & Other Stories features ten episodes of the much-loved cartoon.

As well as the brilliant title episode, it features adventures including The Obstacle Course Badge and The Going Slow Badge.

In addition, Duggee teaches the Squirrels about the solar system and they all investigate a ghostly sound while dressing up.

We spent a very happy afternoon watching all ten episodes!

The DVD wouldn’t be complete without a certain extra feature and it obliges. Yes, there’s a sing-a-long Stick Song. Quite right too! My two-year-old absolutely loves it. Okay, we all do!

And we’re not alone. It’s fair to say that the Stick Badge episode captured the imagination of millions. As well as being viewed over five million times on the show’s social media channels, it has been played on both BBC Radio 6 Music and Newsnight.

As two such respected entities have done so, it would be foolish of me not to follow. So here’s the song that you’ll have stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

Here’s your chance to win one of three copies of Hey Duggee The Stick Badge & Other Stories. You can enter via as many of the methods as you like in the Rafflecopter widget below. Good luck!
