Further Snackspiration with The Super Yummies

This is an advertorial post.

Earlier this week I shared some ‘Snackspiration’ involving The Super Yummies breadsticks. Amelie enjoyed trying savoury flavours so now it’s time to try some sweet ones.

The Super Yummies Dairy Pots proved to be an instant hit and its great to see that they are a source of calcium. They come in two flavours; Strawberry and Peach & Pear and suitable from one year of age.

Once again, I thought it would be a good idea to try and match the snacks with mealtimes. For a breakfast-style snack, I decided to use the fact that she liked them so much as a way of smuggling in fruit.

I quickly made some pancakes and served them with the Strawberry Dairy Pot and some finely sliced fresh strawberries. Amelie immediately started eating the creamy strawberry topping. I knew she would! But, with a little persuasion, she tried the pancake and strawberries too. Success! Two new textures and flavours enjoyed.

Onto some snackspiration for the middle of the day now. The recent hot weather inspired this next idea. I wondered whether the Dairy Pots could be frozen to make lollies. Of course they could!

I simply spooned them into lolly moulds and put them in the freezer overnight. I was tempted to add fruit but decided against it. One step at a time is usually the best approach! It worked a treat with both flavours. After a little bit of a cautious reaction, Amelie seemed to enjoy them. I’m going to add a few blueberries and raspberries next time.

Seeking another three out of three, I wondered whether it was possible to include the contents of a Dairy Pot in a cake. I had seen similar products used in recipes so I gave it a try. It was simply a matter of following a standard cake recipe and adding a couple of pots to the mix.

I could have used either flavour, but went for Peach & Pear. Once the cakes had cooked and cooled, I ‘iced’ them with a little more of the snack and put them in the fridge to harden the topping a little.

Obviously, I had to try one. The flavour and texture were great. But it was Amelie’s verdict that mattered. It was another successful experiment. She loved it. Unfortunately for her, so did her brothers so it looks like I’ll be making more of these too!

Like the breadsticks, the Dairy Pots have proved to be very versatile. As the oft-used line on people’s CVs goes, they work well both individually and as part of a team!
