I’ve been on the lookout for a set of wireless headphones for a while so was happy to hear from the team at Sudio recently. They sent me a set of their Regent wireless headphones to put to the test.
As well as the headphones themselves, the box contains an audio cable, a charging cable and a guarantee card. Of course, there is also a manual and quick-start guide.
First impressions count for a lot and it was obvious that great care had been taken. They look the part and are clearly made from high-quality materials. They were nicely presented as well.
In addition, it was immediately apparent that they are foldable. This is another major plus for me. As well as making them nice and compact while on the go, it reduces the risk of damage.
Like any self-respecting reviewer, the first thing I did was to try them on. They were very comfortable indeed. Both on the ears and on top of the head.
With the comfort box well and truly ticked, it was time to put the headphones to their primary use. They were very easy to set up. All I needed to do was press a button for five seconds to switch on Bluetooth and pair them with my phone. I was listening to music in less than a minute.
The sound quality is excellent. There was a very noticeable difference to my old headphones. It was much easier to pick out the individual instruments in the music I listened to on these. Indeed, I would say that the sound quality was on a par with that of the studio equipment I used on a recent radio day.
And speaking of days, the headphones have a battery life of over 24 hours while active. Furthermore, this extends to 20 days when on standby. According to the details on Sudio’s website, a quick charge takes ten minutes while a full one takes two hours. I haven’t been able to put this to the test yet as mine worked from the box and haven’t needed charging yet. Very impressive!
I’m very happy with my new headphones. They sound as good as they look, are intuitive to use and have a great battery life.
