The month or so before Father’s Day is always my busiest time of year. It’s a great time to be a dad blogger! A frequently asked question in May and June centres on what my ideal gift would be.
In addition to the politic and, indeed, true answer of quality time with my family, there are a few usual suspects. Including chocolate! I’ve always had a sweet tooth and chocolate never lasts long while I’m around.
Hotel Chocolat has some fantastic Father’s Day gifts for dads like me. I’ve taken one for the team and selflessly sampled some of them to prove this to be true. Tough job etc.
First up is the Father’s Day H-box. It includes 14 of Hotel Chocolat’s delicious treats. There’s a great selection of flavours in milk, dark, white and caramel chocolates.
I loved all of them but my personal favourites were the Fudge Sundae and Caramel Cheesecake. Given that I don’t really go for its baked namesake, Carrot Cake also stood out for me.
The second box I tried was the Old Fossil. This is available in both milk and dark chocolate. I went for the latter. It felt a little wrong sinking my teeth into something that could be considered art, but I soon got over that.
With 70% cocoa, it has a lovely rich flavour that more than compensates if your dad thinks the wording on the box refers to him!
Last but by no means least is the Father’s Day Sleekster. Essentially the H-box’s bigger sibling – or old man, of course – it contains no fewer than 27 chocolates.
In further support of my selfless credentials, I shared these with my family. They were a big hit with everyone. Mousse au Chocolat and Eton Mess were both politely fought over.
I enjoyed everything I tried so am very happy to recommend all three boxes.
Of course, it’s nice to give chocolates as well as to receive them. With that in mind, I have one Father’s Day Sleekster to give away. To be in with a chance of winning, use as many of the entry methods as you like via the Rafflecopter widget below.
These chocs would make an ideal Father’s Day gift so good luck!
Disclosure: Hotel Chocolat provided the chocolates reviewed above. I love my job!
