Carpetright Carpet Creations

A sleeping baby dressed up as a Jedi on a Star Wars carpet.

Come on, admit it. You’ve put your baby in amusing poses and photographed them while they’re asleep! We all have. It’s a rite of passage for any self-respecting parent. The people at Carpetright obviously know this as they’ve launched a Carpet Creations competition.

They’re challenging parents to unleash their creative sides while their little ones slumber, oblivious of their starring roles! To spark a few ideas, they challenged me to create a few with Amelie.

I have to admit that it was quite a challenge. The ideas came easily enough, it was more a matter of getting her to sleep in daylight hours. She’s a good sleeper at night and, of course, I wouldn’t change that. During the day, she sometimes nods off, but it’s never for long so I had to be stealthy. I don’t know whether there’s such a thing as a carpet ninja, but I would make a good one now!

Here’s what I came up with…

Amelie in Wonderland

It’s just as well Amelie stayed asleep for this one – otherwise the Knave of Hearts would have had a rival for the jam tarts!

Attack of the 50 Foot Baby

Not quite a like-for-like homage to the cult film, but you get the idea!

Dream debut

Amelie woke up just as I took this, but it actually helped achieve the overhead volley pose I wanted. Well played!

Return of the Shut Eye

The force is clearly not awakening here – I think my little Jedi was nice and cosy!

Turtle Power Nap

Okay, so she wouldn’t sleep at all for this one, but I managed to get her appearing to swim with the turtles for a couple of moments so that’ll do me!

Now it’s your turn and there’s a prize of up to £1,000 in Carpetright vouchers up for grabs. To take part in the Carpet Creations competition yourself, tweet your picture to @Carpetright and use #carpetcreations. Alternatively upload it to the Carpetright Facebook page.

Good luck!
