I would quite happily eat pizza every day and, thanks to Chicago Town, have been doing exactly that this week! They asked me to try some of the seven new pizzas in their range. Don’t mind if I do! As well as providing the key ingredient of pizza, they sent me this rather fetching jumper.
From this magnificent seven, we decided to try the Limited Edition The Takeaway Pulled Beef Brisket, The Takeaway American Hot, Deep Dish Mega Meaty and Pizza Melt BBQ Chicken. They all looked delicious, so the biggest challenge was choosing which to try first.
The Takeaway Pulled Beef Brisket
I loved the different flavours of this first pizza. The maple-seasoned pulled beef tasted great with the mozzarella, green peppers and fried onions. It’s got a barbecue sauce stuffed crust too, so it was tasty to the last bite. The only shame is that this is a limited edition, so get it while it’s hot!
The Takeaway American Hot
The box warned that this thin-crust pizza bites back and it wasn’t kidding! It’s packed with pepperoni, mozzarella and red onion and, of course, slices of red jalapeño that provide its fiery aftertaste. I really enjoyed it, but if you don’t handle hot food too well, you may want to have some sour cream on hand – or, of course, try one of the other toppings.
The Deep Dish Mega Meaty
If I’m ever struggling to choose between two pizzas – this happens more than you might think – my rule of thumb is to go for the one with the most meat on it, so this just pipped the Deep Dish Meatball Melt which also looked great. With pepperoni, crumbled sausage and ham among the ingredients, it’s definitely one for carnivores!
The Pizza Melt BBQ Chicken
I have to admit that this style of pizza was a new one on me, but made a great alternative to our standard cheese sandwiches for lunch! The mozzarella, Edam and barbecue sauce went very well with the chicken and red pepper. Better still, it only took 11 minutes to cook.
The verdict
We enjoyed all of these pizzas and it’s difficult to pick a favourite. If pushed though, I’d go for The Takeaway Pulled Beef Brisket. After indulging in them every day, we’ll be having a few salads to restore the balance but we’ll definitely be going back for more from the Chicago Town range. They’re on a par with takeaway pizzas and at a fraction of the price. What’s not to like?
You can find the Chicago Town range in most supermarkets.
