Today started horrendously. Thanks to a large part of the electorate apparently forgetting all the bad things that have happened during the last five years and voting for the selfish bastards who look after themselves and nobody else, we’re in for another five years of misery at the hands of the Tories. I despair. Angry as I am at this, however, I still have a huge smile on my face today thanks to some really good news… Kate and I are going to be parents again!
This morning, we went to our local hospital – it’s still just about open despite the Conservatives’ best efforts – for the 12-week scan and you can see the result above. Everything seems to be normal, it’s an active little thing and, thankfully, there’s only one of them, so all is well. The past dozen weeks have gone so slowly – I don’t remember time dragging nearly as much with Dylan and Xander – so we’ve had plenty of opportunities to let the secret slip earlier than intended. I’m pleased to report that neither of us have though, so this is an exclusive!
Dylan and Xander are excited about the news too – well, almost. We told them at the time of day that they associate with biscuits, so they were a little distracted! They’re looking forward to having a little sibling to lead astray – my words, obviously – and have both already volunteered to share their favourite cuddly toys with it without being prompted. Lovely boys!
They’ve both already indicated a preference for a little sister. We’ll be happy with whatever we have, of course – as long as it’s healthy and hates Arsenal and Chelsea, I don’t mind. We’re really looking forward to having another baby – even if it does look a little like an alien gesticulating at a paparazzi…
